Yesterday evening we faced mabye one of the most amazing 1/8 finals of UCL history. At Etihad Stadium, Manchester City faced the leaders of french league, Monaco.
Monaco was the first real challange for Pep Guardiola in champions league during this season.
When Raheem Sterling scored the first goal of the match, everyone thought that this was going to be a very easy match. The hosts underestimated “Les Monégasques” and they risked a lot.
Only 5 minutes after it was Radamel Falcao who returned the balance in the game. Great equalizer which brought back the enthusiasm at Monaco. The team from Stade Louis II got the advantage with Kylian Mbappé 5 minutes before the final whistle of the first half.
Very disappointing for Pep’s guys who needed to make the miracle in the second half. In the 58th minute, the real match started…
Aguero scored the 2nd goal for Manchester City, but it was Falcao once again who ruined the party. A fast counter-attack finished in a wonderful way from the columbian who rised the ball over the keeper.
It was time for “The Citizens” to show their true strength…
Mabye not experienced in UCL, but they surely have talent and skills in their group. In only 20 minutes Monaco conceded 3 goals from City. Aguero put his team again in advantage and from that moment, the match had only one team in the field.
The match finished with an unbelievable result and a river of goals. 5-3 and the hosts made a great comeback. They mabye didn’t convince, but they proved that will show great strength in this competition.
