Premier League review (round 23)

As always premier league offers everything to make your weekend better and a simple. The big number of goals in every match and their quality shows the high level of football that is played on England.

Firstly, we should mention that this round was again full of surprises. Most of the big teams didn’t get their points.

This time the round took place in midweek. Most of the matches were on tuesday. This is the day when most surprises happened.

After a great winning streak Arsenal failed at home against Watford. Walter Mazzarri‘s guys shocked everyone in Emirates Stadium. The “Gunners” lost 1-2 and a match where they were absolute favourites. 2 fast goals from Younès Kaboul and Troy Deeney in the 10th and 13th minute almost closed the game. The hosts tried to change something on the second game, but they scored only once with Alex Iwobi.

Meanwhile, the other league competitors of Tottenham didn’t do anything better. The Spurs couldn’t get something more than a 0-0 draw against Sunderland. Everyone expected more from this game, but both teams gave almost nothing.

On other matches, Crystal Palace finally got back to winning away. Eagles won against Bournemouth, in a match where the hosts dominated, but didn’t score. Leicester keeps losing without stop. Ranieri‘s players lost again, this time to Burnley.

The most important match of this round in premier league was of course played in Anfield.

Liverpool faced the leaders of Chelsea. This match was just spectacular. Every player in the field gave everything. The guests scored the first goal after a brilliant free kick from David Luiz. Klopp played all his cards and got rewarded in the 57th minute when Georginio Wijnaldum scored with a header. However, it was Diego Costa who had the best opportunity in this match. The brasilian striker missed from the penalty kick in the 76th minute.

On wednesday it was time for the teams from Manchester to play. Pep Guardiola said before the match that if his team didn’t win he would recheck his situation as a manager. The players got the message. Manchester City crushed West Ham in London Stadium 0-4.

On the other hand, Manchester United disappointed everyone. The Red Devils couldn’t score against Hull City in a match that finished 0-0.
